Laser Vagina Tightening

Laser Vagina Tightening

Laser Vagina Tightening or ‘Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation’ (LVR) is performed to tighten and rejuvenate the vaginal canal with a non-surgical operation. This application is provided by thermal and ablative effects of the laser light. It doesn’t have any incision, anesthesia or pain during the procedure.

It’s been used not only for the rejuvenation of vagina, but also for stress urinary incontinence treatment, sexual enhancement, menopausal vulvo-vaginal atropy symptoms, and lichen sclerosus treatment. Mostly CO2 and Er:YAG lasers are used for genital treatments.

Advantages of vaginal lasers?

Laser vaginal rejunenation procedures have some advantages. They are;

  • Totally non-surgical,
  • Painless.

And, they don't need any;

  • Downtime,
  • Anesthesia,
  • Medical dressing after the procedure.

How does laser vaginal rejuvenation effect?

There are two effects of laser: Thermal (Heating) and Ablative (Destructive). These effects cause mild and temporary damage to the vaginal mucosa. The ‘inflammatory’ response occurs in the tissue due to this temporary damage. Restorative cells, called as ‘fibroblast’, attacking to the damaged tissue try to rejuvenate this tissue.

In this process, fibroblasts increase the production of ‘collagen’ and ‘elastic’ connective tissue in skin. Then, tissue rejuvenation and tightening is achieved.

Why is laser vaginal rejuvenation is preferred?

There are many advantages of laser vaginal rejuvenation. These are; it is a painless procedure, anesthesia is not required, no surgery risk since it is not a surgical operation, it shows the effect in a short time, also is a solution for different diseases and gynecological problems.

Who can undergo laser vaginal rejuvenation?

All women who are not virgin and who are active in their sexual lives can undergo laser vaginal rejuvenation. Vaginal tightening can be a solution for couples having enlargement and expansion complaints. These women usually have complaints like ‘I don’t feel anything with my partner’. About 3 weeks after laser vaginal rejuvenation, both male and female partners feel tightening and ‘increased sensation’ during their sexual intercourse.

Increasing sexual pleasure:
Laser vaginal rejuvenation increases the pleasure both in male and female partner in sexual intercourse. Orgasm problems in women can be corrected also. Genital PRP applications can also be made at the same session.

Vaginal dryness treatment:
It may also be a solution for vaginal dryness in women depending on increasing blood circulation.

Treatment of urinary incontinence:
It can also be applied for treatment in women with mild urinary bagging (prolapsus) and rectum saggings but having urinary continence problem. It can create a solution for those having urinary incontinence especially when counching, sneezing and doing sports.

Treatment of frequent vaginitis (vaginal infection):
It can be applied for treatment purposes in women having a frequent vaginal infection and repeating fungal infection since these problems increase local immunity.

Treatment of menopausal skin thinning:
Vagina lasers are effective in vaginal dryness and painful sexual intercourse problems due to vulvovaginal atrophy (shrinking of the genital area, thinning of the skin),especially during menopause. The mechanism of action is again with the increase of collagen. In the treatment of pain during sexual intercourse (dyspareunia), sexual intercourse pain may be related to ‘Vulvar Vestibulitis’ (Vulvar Vestibulitis Syndrome). In this case, sexual intercourse pain can be treated with laser applications.

Lichen Sclerosus treatment:
Thinning of the skin tissue, and result complaints such as burning, itching, stinging may be associated with an autoimmune skin disease which is called as ‘lichen sclerosus’. In this case, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injection treatments are very beneficial together with laser applications. Genital radiofrequency technologies are also used with the same indication.

How is laser vaginal rejuvenation performed?

Fractional carbon dioxide (CO2) or Erbium Fat (Er: FAT) lasers are generally used in laser vaginal rejuvenation.

Laser vaginal rejuvenation lasts for about 20 minutes; it is a painless and comfortable procedure. Thanks to Femilift CO2 robotic arm we use in our Istanbul clinic, procedure period is reduced to 3 minutes. No anesthesia is required. Patients can return to their social life immediately after the procedure. But, there is a prohibition for 7 days of sex.

For vaginal tightening and urinary incontinence treatments, usually 2 or 3 applications are recommended in with 1-2 month(s) interval. Laser vaginal rejuvenation has been a frequently preferred method in recent years. It is very satisfactory in the appropriate patient groups. It is a very important advantage to treat the patient without surgery.

Vaginal tightening can now be obtained by vaginal radiofrequency devices without any operation, apart from laser applications.

We have been applying laser vaginal rejuvenation treatments since 2014. Our clinics that are known as "Hera Clinics" are based in the three biggest cities in Turkey (in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir). In our clinics in Istanbul, we use Monalisa Touch and Femilift lasers. Immidiately after the laser treatment, there is no restriction for travelling.
